When is the best time for Ibiza?

Other than the months of January and February when Ibiza gets the most rainfall, the island is ideal to travel to throughout the year. It has a mild climate with a summer average of around 30°C and winter temperatures of about 11°C.

Ibiza has a selection of enjoyable and unique festivals throughout the year, particularly electronic music festivals. The "Ibiza Rocks Festival" takes place from mid-June to mid-September.

Before you travel, local languages and living costs

It is a good idea to hire a car before you travel to Ibiza, especially if you are planning to visit the island during July and August when hiring your car early is recommended. English is spoken by most of the local residents, but it is a good idea to learn some phrases in the official main languages of Catalan and Castillian, learning a few basic phrases in Spanish will definitely be appreciated. In general, the cost of staying in Ibiza is lower than the average in the UK and doing your shopping at local grocery markets is a good idea as they offer good value for money. 

Local information, travel and accommodation

Taxis from the airport to the town of Santa Eularia cost around 30 euro, and travelling to Ibiza town will cost around 15 euro. Travelling by the bus is the least expensive option, and the number 10 bus takes around 15 minutes to get to the Ibiza port and will cost about 3 euro. There are plenty of buses that travel between resorts and cities, with single journey tickets costing from about 1.60 euro, with the maximum price being around 4.50 euro per one way trip on the island. During peak season, major resorts are usually accessible by bus directly from the airport. Ibiza town itself is also perfect to explore by walking. Basic hotel accommodation on Ibiza costs around 10 euro per person and a three star hotel will cost around 100 euro for two people sharing.
