Best Times of the Year to Visit

Tenerife is an excellent year-round holiday destination. North Tenerife tends to be cooler and wetter than the area to the south. The peak season for tourists to flock to Tenerife is from January to April. Flight prices also drop during the winter months, when the hotel prices usually peak. Visit Tenerife during September, when the weather is reliable and accommodation prices are typically lower.    Head to Tenerife during February and March for Carneval in Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz. "Dias de las islas Canarias" is May 30. This holiday is celebrated on all of the Canary islands and includes numerous local events with music, dance and fun festivals. Celebrate "Día de la Hispanidad" (Columbus day) on October 12 each year in Tenerife. This Spanish National holiday includes area events and festive parades.
