Tenerife: endless sunshine on the Canary Islands

Spectacular beaches, shimmering water and endless sunshine are just a few of Tenerife's most popular attributes. With year round sun and warm temperatures it has become a haven for tourists during the winter and equally attractive during the summer months. Lush forests, beautiful landscape, and the third tallest volcano in the world place Tenerife in a league of its own.

When is the best time for Tenerife?

Mild temperatures and sunshine make Tenerife a desirable year round destination. North Tenerife can experience a cooler and wetter climate than the south. January through April is generally considered peak season. Be aware that flight prices drop during the winter and hotel rates tend to peak at this time. September is an ideal time to travel with reliable weather and lower accommodation prices. Things heat up during February and March in Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz as locals and tourists alike take part in the revelry of Carneval. The month of May brings several holidays across all of the Canary Islands, "Dias de las islas Canaries,". Be on the lookout for local events with music, dance, and festivals. Columbus Day, "Dia de la Hispanidad," lands on October 12th and is celebrated with parades and festivals.
