When is Carnival in Tenerife?

Basic facts to consider before you arrive 

The resorts in Tenerife vary depending on the region. For example, the main resorts situated in the South of Tenerife, such as Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas are very popular. Therefore the area tends to be quite busy. The west coast is quieter, while the north is ideal for surfing and hiking activities. 

Food and restaurant prices in the Canary Islands are slightly cheaper than those in the UK, so you'll save a little cash eating out while here.

 

Transportation accommodation and travel options

The buses 343, 350 and 111 all travel from Tenerife South Airport, to Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos. Fares cost around 3 euros and the journey time is about 15 minutes. A taxi can cost anywhere between 15 euros and 20 and the journey duration takes approximately 15 minutes. If taking a bus to Santa Cruz, expect your journey to take at least an hour. Fares cost about 9 euros. A taxi ride will cost approximately 50 euros and generally takes about 45 minutes to arrive. 

Hostel and Pension accommodation cost around 20 euros per night, while 3 star hotels charge about 35 euros a night, per person. 

The bus company "Titsa" provides local transportation services around the city. Single tickets cost around 1.50 euros. Taxi fares are cheaper in Tenerife, compared to UK prices and a minimum journey of 3 km costs around 5 euros. 1 euro is added for each additional km.
