      The city of Faro is the gateway fo the southernmost region of Portugal called the Algarve. With its location on the Atlantic Ocean and its large port, Faro is the administrative centre of this region and the point of arrival for tourists arriving by plane.

      The city of Faro is worth a visit all year round. Beach holidaymakers to the region will be especially spoiled by hot temperatures between about 27 and 35 °C from April to October.
