Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland, and is a vibrant and welcoming city offering a warm blend of Irish and British culture. Rich in history and architecture, there are plenty of museums, attractions, and pubs to help visitors enjoy their time in Belfast.
Belfast has a mild, wet climate all year round, with the warmest months being between April and September. Belfast has a thriving festival scene, starting with the traditional Celtic Féile an Earraigh festival, followed by the Belfast Film Festival in April and the Féile an Phobail music festival in August. The Belfast Mela in August is a celebrated Asian festival, and to round off the year the Belfast Festival in October draws dancers and musicians from across the globe.
Belfast is relatively easy to get to, with Airport Express 300 bus going directly from the airport to the bus station. This costs more or less £7.50 one way or a return is available for around £10.50 and the trip takes roughly 30 minutes. Visitors can take a taxi for roughly £30 one-way. A single bus ticket costs approx. £1.50, a day pass roughly £4, and a week pass £16. There are also Belfast Visitor Passes available which are valid for 1-3 days travel and include discounts on popular attractions. Bikes and taxi services are also a possibility. A hostel will typically cost around £10 per night, whilst a hotel in the average price range will be roughly £60 for a double per night.

The city centre is fairly compact and most locations are within walking distance of one another. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants, as well as churches, museums, opera houses and tourist attractions. Basic hot meals start from around £4.50 per person, whilst a pint of delicious locally-brewed beer is around £3, making Belfast cheaper than London and other larger British cities.
