Orlando offers fun for everyone with many different cultures merging in one place, and modern theme parks that will take you around the world in a few paces. Weather in Orlando allows travel all year. Winters are dry and cool, with temperatures under 30° C from November to April. May to September give rainy summers with the thermometer going above 30° C. Be aware though that June to October marks the hurricane season, which may not be for the faint of heart. You might also want to choose your time to visit by events. The Mount Dora Arts Festival, Orlando's largest, with around 300 artists offering music and theatre, is held in February. Celebrate Carnival and the Mardi Gras parade the last week of May. For a more traditional American holiday you can be there for the 4th of July Independence Day festivities, which include concerts, parades, and fireworks. For fine dinning, the Walt Disney Resort holds the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival from the end of September to mid November.

Important local information

Orlando is 5 hours behind London (UCT/GMT -4), so don't forget to consider that when booking your flight. Once there, transport to the city centre on buses 11 and 51 is about $2 for a single ticket or approximately $40 for a taxi. Moving around the city is cheap, with public bus "Lynx" routes for around $2 a single, about $4.50 for a day's travelcard, and around $16 for a travelcard valid for seven days. You can also chose to travel in a taxi, which are cheaper than in London. Accommodation is easy to find in many different price ranges.
