Orlando travel tips
A Beautiful City in the Southeast of the United States
Visiting Orlando is an event of a lifetime. Beautiful beaches, dazzling blue waters, world famous theme parks and excellent tourist spots will satisfy any traveller looking for a good time.
Best Time to Travel, Seasons and Events
Depending on where you want to go and what atmosphere you seek, the best time to visit Orlando depends on the season and time of year. Summertime brings a flood of tourists as schools close down and all the families flock to visit Orlando. The hurricane season (June to November) is typically a time of lesser travel. As a result of the decrease in travel, hotel costs also go down. Expect to see good deals on hotels during this season.
Events are seasonal in Orlando. Orlando's largest festival (the Mount Dora festival) takes place in February and features over 300 artists as well as music and theatre. If you arrive during the end of May, you can catch Orlando's carnival. In July, expect to experience the 4th of July celebrations and Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. And don't forget to make your way to Walt Disney's Resort in the autumn.
Things to Consider Before You Travel
Before you organise a trip to Orlando, here are things you should consider: make sure you apply for the US Visa Waiver Programme. If eligible, you'll be able to stay in the States for 90 days. That gives you plenty of time to experience Orlando. Also consider the cost of living. In comparison to London, Orlando is much cheaper to get by in. Also, synchronize those watches. Orlando time is 5 hours behind London.
Local Information for Accommodation and Transportation
Transportation and accommodation in Orlando is very convenient if you know where to go. You can get the bus from the airport to the city (bus numbers 11 or 51) for $2. Lynx routes offer cheap transportation in the city and around. You can purchase a 2 day pass for $4.50 and a seven day pass for $16 dollars. However, taxis are a bit less expensive in London than Orlando. You'll need to watch your wallet there. Hotels are also affordable. For $50 a night, you can get a 3 star hotel.
Airport Orlando International Airport, FL MCO

Due to steady growth and because the area is a popular year-round destination for many tourists from home as well as abroad, it now ranks as the world's busiest airport. There is also a second airport in the Orlando and Orange County area, the much smaller civilian Orlando-Sanford International Airport in Sanford. Orlando airport is a popular destination for passengers on flights from London to Orlando operated by Virgin Atlantic Airways and British Airways.- URL: Official website
