Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, measuring 572 km². Every year, thousands of holidaymakers flock to the island to enjoy its wonderful beaches and club culture.
Ibiza is blessed with a year round mild climate. Summer temperatures average at 30°C, winters at around 11°C. The most popular time to travel to Ibiza is between April and October as these months are perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Festivals and other events take place throughout the year in Ibiza. In February tourists come to see the Carnival processions. From mid-June till mid-July, the "Ibiza Rocks" festival is held on the island.
Hire cars are useful for exploring the island and should be booked in advance especially during peak season in July and August. The languages spoken are Spanish and Catalan, but due to the large numbers of tourists that have been visiting the island for years, English is also widely spoken.

The travel options for getting from the airport into the centre of Ibiza town are bus, taxi or hire car. A taxi from the airport would cost around €15, whereas the bus number 10, which serves Ibiza port costs in the region of €3. Many visitors will be staying in the resorts by Santa Eularia, which is also served by taxis costing around €30.
Accommodation in Ibiza is plentiful and varied. Budget hostels are available costing from €10 per person for a night. Three star hotels are priced around 100 euros per night for a double room.
Being small, it is easy to get around the Ibiza town walking. However, there is a bus network that serves other towns and resorts along the coast and inland. The disco bus will transport passengers from the major bars and clubs to resorts and hotels.
