Singapore Airlines is the largest airline in the city-state of Singapore and belongs to the world's largest airline alliance, the Star Alliance. The airline's hub is Changi International Airport in Singapore. The scheduled flight from Singapore to New York operated by Singapore Airlines since 28 June 2004 is the longest flight in the world and is operated non-stop with the Airbus A340-500. The distance between the two cities is 16,600 km and the first flight took about 18 hours. This connection is offered daily by Singapore Airlines (return).
