When to visit Singapore

What you should know about Singapore
British passport holders do not normally require a visa for stays of 30 days or less. However, passports should be valid for at least 6 months from the entry date. Your routine vaccinations should be up to date. Check with your GP for other recommended vaccinations, such as hepatitis A and typhoid. Local information about Singapore
If you arrive at the Singapore airport, you can take the metro to the city centre for the price of around 2 SGD, taking about 20 minutes, while the bus takes about 60 minutes. If you want to take a taxi, it will cost you around 30 SGD and prices are 50% higher during the night. To get around the city, you can use Singapore's public transport system. The EZ - Link Singapore Tourist Pass is a rechargeable chip card which enables reduced fares on the metro and bus network. If you prefer to take taxis, you should know that taxi prices are higher during the night and during the rush hour.
Prices for accommodation in hostels start at around 30 SGD. Best areas to stay at include Little India, Chinatown, Geylang or areas around Arab Street.
