Airport Girona Costa Brava GRO
Girona International Airport, also called Girona Costa Brava airport, is in the northeastern Spanish community of Catalonia. Next to Barcelona airport it is the second largest airport of the entire region by traffic volume and is popular for visitors to the world-famous 136 mile long Costa Brava and is used especially during the summer season by large numbers of sun loving European tourists. The airport is, however, also well located for access to the Pyrenees. The airport is managed by AENA, who are also responsible for monitoring Spanish airspace.Passenger numbers have grown enormously in recent years since Girona airport has been integrated into the Ryanair network. The low cost airline operates flights to Girona from Brimingham and London in the UK for example as well as from other major airports in Europe and Spain. The airport is often used as an alternative airport to Barcelona.
