Useful information about the flight from Jeddah to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: a capital of culture

Ancient forts and palaces jostle with modern restaurants serving international cuisine in the vibrant and historic city of Hyderabad. This is the perfect place to enjoy a honeymoon, a backpacking tour or a family holiday packed with sightseeing.

Beat the monsoon with our smart travel tips

Monsoon season in Hyderabad is typically wet and muggy, and it can be hard to get about and see all the sights that you want to during monsoon months. Avoid the monsoon season, which runs from July to October, and enjoy the mild weather that follows and lasts until March. During this period, temperatures are a pleasant 15-29 degrees centigrade. Summer falls from March to June and temperatures can get very hot indeed. Nevertheless, whatever time of year you visit Hyderabad, there will be festivals and other events to enjoy. Ganesh Chaturthi is in August/September for example whilst Diwali or the Festival of Light occurs in October.

Pre-travel checklist

Make sure to apply for a Visa if you are a UK passport holder: in order to do so you will need at least 2 blank pages and 180 days remaining on your passport. Also, make sure to book an appointment with your GP at least two months before travelling to Hyderabad so that they can get you up to date on all of the necessary vaccinations. There are several vaccinations needed for traveling here, including Cholera, Typhoid and Hepatitis A. If you plan to travel to other parts of India, further vaccinations are advised. The cost of living in Hyderabad is relatively cheap; you can enjoy a cheap Thali for around Rs. 120 whilst a more luxurious restaurant meal will set you back around Rs. 250.

How to get around the city

When your plane touches down at Hyderabad airport you can take a taxi to the city centre or (the cheaper option) hop on the air-conditioned shuttle bus known as the Pushpak Airport Liner. There are buses in the city and these are generally inexpensive (around Rs. 20 for a journey). They do tend to be crowded, though, so many travellers prefer to take taxis to the main sights of Hyderabad. If opting for a taxi just make sure to agree the taxi fare with your driver before you depart.
