Useful information about the flight from Glasgow Prestwick to Lanzarote
When to go to Lanzarote?
The weather is always warm and the sun is always shining on Lanzarote. The Spanish island, well placed off the African coast, has a sub-tropical, almost desert-like climate. In winter, the mildness remains constant and many people come to spend a few weeks here to recharge their batteries. The hottest period is from May to the end of October: these are also the favourite seasons for holidaymakers to swim and enjoy the beaches. This is why last minute bookings can be difficult during the high season.
What to do in Lanzarote?
There are many leisure activities waiting for visitors. Natural sights can be visited with a guide, such as the caves of the Cueva de los Verdes or the lava flows visible in the Timanfaya Park. Close to the coast, Puerto del Carmen is a well developed resort with numerous yacht clubs and diving centres. More typical and located on the southern tip, the town of Playa Blanca is home to an old fishing port and is full of bars, restaurants and nightlife.
