Deciding when to fly to Corfu

Since Corfu is blessed with an excellent climate throughout the year, visitors will always have a memorable holiday on the island. Winters are cooler and sometimes wet. Summer, from about May onward are reliably sunny and dry with winds at times taking the edge of the extreme summer heat. It is always somewhat cooler in the mountains. Favourite times to travel and also the peak season is from May till October. Easter celebrated in Corfu according to the Orthodox Christian tradition with processions and big celebrations. No particular vaccines are needed for travel to Greece. However, visitors are advised to check that all their routine vaccines are up to date. Passports also have to be valid. In general everyday costs in Greece are much cheaper than in the UK. Travellers can expect to pay around €8 for a meal out.

Transfer from Corfu airport

To get to Corfu Town from the airport, passengers can take a taxi which will cost around €10. Most tourists tend to hire a car, either at the airport or before travel via the internet, which is advisable during peak travel times.
