April sees the Someshwara Car festival, a procession to the Halasuru Someshwara Temple (Ulsoor). The Ist November is Karnataka Rajyotsava, a public holiday celebrating the foundation of Karnataka state.

Auto rickshaws are metered, and cost around Rs 15 x distance in km, with the minimum charge set at Rs 25, and a 10% surcharge applied at night. Heavy luggage will also cost around Rs 10-20.
