Best time to enjoy Kolkata

Summer, from March to June can be very hot and humid so many people prefer September to January. The Monsoon season is from May to September and winter temperatures can drop to around 12 C from December to January. Useful tips before travelling

Visas are required and British citizen passport holders may be eligible for e-Tourist visas. Passports must be valid for a minimum of 180 days and have two blank pages. Many Indian airports charge User Development Fees (UDF). The fee of about Rs 1,000 is normally included in airfares. If not, this will be levied at the airport on arrival.
