Venice travel tips

Enchanting Venice

Everyone wants to visit Venice. With its beautiful and romantic setting, fascinating architecture and artwork, it is one of the most sought after vacation spots in Europe.

Best of climate, holidays and festivals

The best time to visit Venice is from April till October as the colder winter months can bring flooding. There are festivals all year round in Venice. The "Biennale di Venezia" is an art exhibition that takes place every two years. Carnival happens 10 to 17 days before Ash Wednesday, usually in February. On the 3rd Sunday in July you can enjoy the processions, concerts and fireworks of the "Festa del Redentore". For film fans, there is an international film festival on Lido island for 11 days during August and September.

Before you travel: cost of living

Happily, Venice is a little less expensive than London. You can enjoy a  meal in an inexpensive restaurant for about EUR 10.00. Beer costs around EUR 4.00. A trip to the market for food is also much less expensive and especially alcohol is cheaper than in the UK.
