The best time to travel to Stuttgart
Those travelling to Stuttgart should not miss the Spring Festival, which takes place from mid-April to early May. This is the largest spring festival in Europe. The Cannstatt Folk Festival also always attracts many guests and is held at the end of September or the beginning of October. To reach the centre of Stuttgart take the S-Bahn S2 and S3 which serves airport and main station. The city bus lines 19, 122, 806 and 828 also regularly travel to central Stuttgart. Various long-distance bus companies, such as Flixbus also serve the city.

Location
Opened in 1936 the airport is about 13 km or 9 miles south of Stuttgart city centre. Motorists can reach the terminal using either the A8/E52, exit "Stuttgart-Flughafen/Messe", or the B27.
The S-Bahn lines 2 and 3 operate a service form Stuttgart Airport to the city. The journey takes about 27 minutes. The bus number 122 also serves the airport (END of Esslingen), as do bus number 828 (RBS Tübingen), the bus "expresso X3" from Pfullingen / Reutlingen, number 809 from Neuenhaus, the bus 74 from Nürtingen and the bus 36 from the Neuhausen. Current timetables are available locally or on the Internet.
A direct rail link (Deutsche Bahn) is currently being planned as part of the transport and urban development project "Stuttgart 21". The journey from Stuttgart's main train station should then take only 8 minutes as opposed to 27 minutes.
