Paris travel tips
The world's greatest city of romance
Paris is the most romantic city in the world. All year round people come to stroll along the Seine, gaze at great works of art and to dine on the finest food. It's a magical place to spend some time and has plenty to offer visitors planning a weekend trip or longer holiday.
When is the right time to visit Paris?
Paris has a mild climate and is a pleasant place to visit all year round. Visitors to Paris flock to the city to attend the huge number of cultural events that the city hosts. In June a popular event is the Fête de la Musique. July sees the Parc Floral taken over by the Paris Jazz Festival, with live music from 3pm every Saturday and Sunday. Tourists can witness the end of the Tour de France at the end of July, or Bastille Day on 14th July.
What you need to know before visiting Paris
Visitors can save plenty of money if they plan to visit Paris' huge range of museums and art galleries. On the first Sunday of each month, the leading museums and galleries offer free admission, so visit then to make big savings. In general, Paris is cheaper than London, so you can budget for some luxury meals if you feel like it. The city is 1 hour ahead of the UK time zone, so adjust your watches before you arrive.
