Groceries are generally cheaper than in the UK. Restaurant prices are approximately 15 Euros for lunch, beer is about 5 Euros and a cup of coffee around 3 Euros.
Transport to and from Nice International Airport is easy to arrange. The Airport Express bus 98 or 99 costs around 6 Euros one way. Expect to pay about 30 Euros for a taxi into central Nice. Between 6 pm and 7 am there's a taxi surcharge at night. A hostel bed will set you back about 20 Euros per person in a shared room. Three star hotels are around 50 Euros per person per night. Nice has a reliable and cost-effective public transport system. Single tickets on trams and buses cost approx 1.50 Euros while a seven day travel card is about 15 Euros. The price you will pay for a taxi is about 10 Euros for the first three km then 2 Euros per km.
