Geneva travel tips
Cosmopolitan and ultra-chic Geneva
So prominent, Geneva is often mistaken for Switzerland's capital. Home to luxury jewellers, high-end boutiques and Europe's largest alpine lake, the views of the Mont Blanc Massif are no less than breathtaking.
Geneva's seasons
The period between May and October make the best travel dates, although winters are mild when compared to much of the rest of Switzerland. The Marathon falls in May and in June the Regatta "Bol d'Or" is held. The "Fetes de Geneve" is a summer festival on Lake Geneva that is held in August, with fireworks and other events. On 12th December, the "L'Escalade" commemorates the city's defeat of the Savoyer, with parades, processions and road running activities.
