Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is the largest and most important airport in the State of Texas. By area, the number of flights and passenger numbers it is even one of the ten largest airports in the world. There is another smaller regional airport in Dallas, Dallas Love Field.

First in use in 1974 and at that time the world's largest and most expensive airport, Dallas Fort Worth is located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth in the centre of the surrounding suburbs Grapevine, Irving, Euless and Southlake.

At terminals A -E, TRE shuttles stop during weekdays and the bus number 803 takes passengers to the DFW Station/Centreport further south. From here, the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) goes in two directions serving Dallas Union Station in downtown Dallas, from here take the Amtrak Route "Texas Eagle" (Chicago-Los Angeles). The other direction is towards the ITC or T & P Station in downtown Fort Worth. From Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) , passengers can take the Amtrak Route "Texas Eagle" or the "Heartland Flyer" (Fort Worth-Oklahoma City). The airport shuttles also stop regularly at terminals A-E. Bus routes 801 - 804 go in a northerly direction to the "North Remote" car parks, here there is a connection to the local bus number 310 to North Irving Transit Center or southwards to the "South Remote" car parks , from here take the DART bus number 408 towards South Irving Station. The "AIRPORTER" also operates on a regular basis from the car parks to all hotels downtown.

Passengers travelling between Dallas-Forth Worth and Dallas Love Field take the TRE to Dallas Union Station and change for the bus number 39 (DART) at the Convention Center Station which is 700 m further south.
