Why visit the Bodrum Peninsula in the Turkish Aegean?
The Bodrum peninsula surprises with multifaceted landscapes: forested in the north with a rocky coast, in the west and south gorgeous bays with soft sandy beaches. White tiled houses shimmer in the bright sunlight and offer a beautiful contrast to the deep blue Aegean Sea.
Bodrum weather and events: when is the best time to travel?
The climate is good for a holiday all year round, with the long hot and dry summers. However, winters can be a bit cool for a beach holiday.
On May 19, the founder of the Turkish state, Atatürk, is commemorated. In the same month, music lovers get their money's worth at the International Bodrum Dance Festival. In July/August, the Ballet Festival and the Gümüslük with classical music and international musicians and guests are the main events. A sporting event is the annual sailing regatta in October. The Eid festival at the end of Ramadan is also a special experience, exact dates will change from year to year.
