Almeria Airport is located in the bay of the same name in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. Along with Malaga Airport, it is one of the most important airports in this part of the country and particularly during the summer months is served by low cost airlines and charter flights on a daily basis, mainly arriving from Britain and Germany. Popular routes are served by Monarch, Easyjet and Ryanair, with Thomas Cook also providing seasonal and cheap flights from UK airports for passengers heading to popular beach resorts on the Costa Almeria such as Roquetas del Mar. The airport is managed by AENA, who are also responsible for monitoring airspace in Spain.

Location

Car: The airport is located about 9 km or 5 miles east of the city on the same bay. Motorists please use the A-7 Almeria-Puerto Lumbreras and take exit N ° 456 to the N-347 just before reaching Almeria. The remaining 2 miles to the airport are signposted. Alternatively take the AL-12, from Almeria; this will take you directly to the departure terminal at exit N ° 7.

Rail passengers take trains to the Estación de Tren de Almeria and from the bus terminal take the SURBUS bus line 20 of the public transport company which daily in 40 minutes driving to the airport.

Buses: Line 20 operates a service from Almeria airport to the city centre.

Taxis: are widely available at the taxi rank just outside the terminal.

Car hire: major international car rental companies have offices and desks at Almeria airport: Europcar, Goldcar rental and Hertz are examples.
