Useful information about the flight from London to Delhi
Travelling to Delhi, a brief guide
Delhi is a wonderful place to visit on a holiday, with a very warm climate most of the year. This fantastic capital of India is a prime example of how India has developed in terms of its contribution to business, the arts and world commerce. You will find great examples of the fashion industry, the arts and historical reminiscence in Delhi.
Best Delhi seasons
If you are looking to travel to Delhi in the near future, you will find that the best time to travel is between October and March. During this time, the climate is the most pleasant. If you were to travel in the height of summer, you may find the climate too hot for comfort. There are a number of festivals that you may like to take part in such as the Holi Spring festival which happens in March. There is also Indian Independence day which occurs on the 15th August, when a large parade fills the streets of Delhi.
Preparing for Delhi
Before you travel to Delhi, you should bear in mind that you will need a valid visa to enter the country. Your passport will also need to have 2 blank pages for the visa and should be valid for a further 180 days after the date of travel.
You may also want to look into any vaccinations that you or your travel group may need. Certain countries of origin will require you to have a Polio vaccination certificate. There are other recommended vaccinations such as Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus and Diphtheria. You should check with your GP before travel for more detailed information on this.
If you are travelling alone, although this is especially pertinent to females, please be cautious around Delhi as some incidences have been known to occur in recent years.
You will find that the general the cost of living is vastly cheaper here than in the UK. Food and drink will be much less although items like electronics will be priced roughly the same.
Delhi Transport
When travelling to the centre from Delhi airport, you can get the metro or shuttle bus for a very small fee. You can get a guest house or hostel bed for around 500 INR. If you want to upgrade to a hotel room, this will normally be around 1400 INR. These rates convert to much much less that you would expect to pay in UK.
