

























Antalya is a popular beach holiday resort on the Mediterranean Sea in Turkey. The area offers visitors sunshine, sea and party as well as a plethora of architectural sites and historical attractions.
Travellers from the UK require a visa to enter Turkey. Passports need to be valid for six months. During peak seasons it is recommended that visitors book hotels and car hire well in advance of their trip.
The months April and May as well as September and October are recommended for a holiday in Antalya. Temperatures will be between 20°C and 25 °C during this time and beaches are not as crowded as during the summer, when it can also be very hot: 35°C upwards.
Timing your holiday to coincide with a festival or one of the Islamic holidays may also be interesting. Eid el Fitr and Eid al Udha both fall on varying dates every year according to the Islamic calendar. The Antalya festival is held every year in September and hosts a variety of cultural events such as concerts.
Antalya is famous for its lively party scene.
Buses, shuttles, taxis or hire cars provide transport from the airport into central Antalya or to the main resorts along the coast.
A taxi costs around 90 to100 TL from Antalya Airport to the city centre. Taxis to Lara Beach are priced at around 110-130 TL.
The airport shuttle from Antalya Airport shuttle departs every hour from 6 am to 10 pm with two extra buses running at night. The journey will take 45 minutes and costs 12 TL or thereabouts.
The Antalya Kart is valid on all public buses and trams in Antalya and is used to pay for rides on public transport.
Antalya is cheap in comparison to the UK. Everything from food, accommodation to transport will cost less than at home. A meal in a basic restaurant will be around priced at around 30 Turkish lira. The average price for rooms is between 190 TL for a hostel or TL 330 or so in a three star hotel.
