Flights to Split from Gatwick

Served by low-cost carriers and charter flights, the city of Split and surrounding area are a popular destination with beach holidaymakers. There are plenty of beaches in and around the city and the national park Krka is also a popular tourist destination with its many waterfalls.

When plan a holiday in Split?

Travelling to Split is especially enjoyable between the months of May and October. May is recommended in order to witness the Sveti Duje festivities which celebrate the city's patron saint on 7th May. 25th June is the Croatian national holiday commemorated with street parties and folk dances.

Flight to Split: preparing to go

Split is neither particularly expensive or very cheap. A simple meal is available for around 60 HRK, a beer will cost 25 HRK or so. A soft drink is priced at approximately 15 HRK.

Outside the city centre, prices can often be up to 20 percent lower. Visitors should try the regional fish dishes and purchase local produce from markets.

Split airport: on arrival

There is a shuttle bus which takes travellers into the city centre for around 30 HRK taking half an hour for the journey.

Taxis will take the same amount of time and charge 250 HRK. Bus number 37 will cost 17 HRK or so, but takes longer - on average about 50 minutes.
