Amsterdam all year round

This is a year round destination. Summer has the best, warmest weather and winters can be cold.  Amsterdam celebrates holidays and festivals throughout the year. Koningsdag happens on on the 27th April. The whole country enjoys this holiday to commemorate King Willem Alexander's Birthday. Discover the free ferry that runs from behind the main station across the IJ to  NDSM. A former wharf, this is now a buzzing cultural centre.

Airport to city and cheap accommodation

 Local transport runs from the Airport to the city centre. The airport railway station links trains directly to central Amsterdam.The journey time is only around 15 minutes and it costs  4 EUR. The 197 bus departs from the airport for Leidseplein in central Amsterdam and it is a 35 minute journey. T taxi from the airport to central Amsterdam casts. 50 EUR.
Taxis are expensive in Amsterdam and public transport is easily accessed. A taxi journey costs 15-20 EUR. for a 10 minute journey. A 24 hour day ticket for public transport is about 8 EUR for adults and approximately 3 EUR for children age 4-11. Amsterdam City Trams sell single tickets, be prepared and have change at hand.
There is cheap hostel accommodation available at 20 EUR per night, and hotels from 45 EUR. Public transport makes accommodation away from tourist centres
