Local London transport information

The fastest journey to London's centre from Stansted International Airport is via train from the railway station located under the airport terminal. Trains operate from there to London Liverpool Street Station every 15 minutes. The journey takes around 45 minutes and the price for a one-way journey, is approximately £8. Book online to save money.

CrossCountry Trains link Stansted and Cambridge. The journey takes 35 minutes. There are also train links for the Midlands and Cambridgeshire.

A local bus network serves towns in the area such as Harlow, Colchester and Bishop's Stortford. National Express coaches serve many other destinations. The Easybus operates to Baker Street or Old Street Station in London. Taxis can be booked at the reservations desk at International Airport Arrivals. Stansted airport is near the M11 with good access to London, Cambridge, Bury St. Edmunds and Milton Keynes. Due to the vicinity of the M25, other South East areas are also easy to reach.

London public transport journeys cost about £5.70 for a single ticket. Travelcards are available for a daily cost of between £12 and £15. An Oyster Travelcard will save visitors money and provides the cheapest way to travel around the city. Each Oyster Travelcard has pre-loaded credit for journeys across central London. A refundable deposit of around £5 is payable for the Oyster card.
