Going from JFK Airport to Mid or Downtown Manhattan, take the AirTrain to Howard Beach subway station and change there. The journey takes about 40-75 minutes. Or take the bus to the subway or the Long Island Rail Road. Express buses go straight to Long Island, Manhattan or Hudson Valley. A taxi to Manhattan costs around $52. From Newark Liberty Airport the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Corridor Lines get you to New York City in approximately 30 minutes. There's a bus from Newark to New York City, also taking about 30 minutes. From LaGuardia Airport to Manhattan take the M60 bus.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
is the main airport for international flights. The airport is located in Jamaica, Queens and is now one of the most important commercial passenger airports in the United States.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA), located in New York city in Queens, is primarily served by domestic flights with the exception of Continental Airlines along with a few other airlines. There are a number of public transport options from the airport to Manhatten, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Staten Island.

Newark International Airport (EWR) is situated in Newark in New Jersey about 16 miles outside the city and was the first airport in the New York City area. The airport may be easily reached using the Amtrak-Net in New Jersey as well as buses from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station (GWBBS) bus stations.

Location

Opened in 1948, New York - John Fitzgerald Kennedy International Airport is the largest and most important commercial airport in the New York metropolitan area as well as on the east coast of the United States of America. It is located approximately 22 km east of downtown Manhattan. It is very easy to reach by car either via the signposted Interstate I-678, which goes to the airport terminals, or using the New York State Routes 27 & 878 or via the Belt Parkway.

Newark International Airport is approximately 43 km from downtown NY. New York - La Guardia Airport about 15 km from the centre of the city.

Public transport from John F. Kennedy Airport:AirTran JFK, an Express train that connects all terminals with the Subway Station Howard Beach (Route A - IND Rockaway Line) and Sutpin Boulevard Station (Routes E, J and Z - Archer Avenue Line) as well as Jamaica station (Long Iceland Railraod (LIRR)). From Jamaica station there is a fast train to Penn Station (about 18 kilometers). There are also an excellent bus service from the airport to various destinations: use the Q3, Q10 or B15.

For transit between John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia Airport, use the New York Airport Express bus. Between John F. Kennedy and Newark the Go Airlink NYC operates a regular shuttle bus. There are also regular bus services to Manhattan, Pennsylvania Station (Amtrak or overground) to Grand Central Terminal and the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Greyhound, NJ Transit).
