Airport Milan-Malpensa MXP

Milan-Malpensa Airport is the second most important airport in Italy behind Rome-Fiumicino, with a traffic volume of more than 23 million passengers yearly. Besides Malpensa, Milan has one other important hub: Milan Linate airport which is in the city’s suburbs. Since Malpensa was opened, Linate however is no longer served by all airlines, but is popular with business travellers as the journey time to the city centre is significantly shorter. Bergamo airport, about 30 miles further away, is often erroneously called Milan Bergamo as it is in the vicinity of the city and for many passengers is an alternative to the busy Malpensa airport. Milan Malpensa is a major hub of Alitalia besides being used by many low-cost airlines such as Easyjet, with flights to Edinburgh or London for example.

The airport consists of two terminals: Terminal 1 for donestic and intercontinental flights. Terminal 2, used by low cost airlines and for charter flights.
