Naples: best time to visit and local holidays

The perfect time for a trip to Naples is between April and Jun, and in September. This is when temperatures are below 30°C. July and August are normally very hot.

2. June is an Italian national holiday, the "Festa della Repubblica", which is celebrated with military parades. In June and July there is a 10 day Pizza festival with a ´n elaborate programme of concerts and cabaret. Ferragosto is celebrated on 15 August, with parties, fireworks etc on the beach. The religious festival of St. Gennaro is on 19. September.

Naples: getting around

Transfer from Naples airport to the main station will take 20 minutes with the Alibus, costing around 4 euros. The ticket price includes public transport connections to other parts of Naples. A taxi from the airport into the city centre will set you back about 16 euros.
