Airport Boston Logan BOS
Boston General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, named after a senior officer from Boston in the Spanish-American War in 1898, is by far the largest and most important airport in the State of Massachusetts as well as the entire eastern coastal New England. Location
Opened way back in 1923 but only used for civilian aviation in 1927, the airport is in East Boston, about 12 to 14 miles east of downtown Boston. Access to the terminal is directly on Interstate Highway 90 (Massachusetts Turnpike).
From the airport there are various means of travelling to the city centre, the metropolitan area and the surrounding communities, such as with the Logan Express bus service to Braintree, Framingham, Peabody and Woburn, the MBTA Silver Line bus route SL1 to Boston South Station in downtown, the Blue Line bus route from the nearby airport station, Logan Shuttle from the Airport Station towards Water Transportation Dock, various regional transport providers such as Blue Bonanza Lines, Trans Lines Concord Trailways or Vermont to South Station, MBTA water shuttle to downtown and to other stops in the Boston Inner Harbor. There are also various car rental companies, taxi and limousine operators.
