Aegean Airlines is member of the Star Alliance and the largest airline in Greece. The airline provides short and medium haul scheduled flights for passengers.
AEGEAN acquired Olympic Air in 2013 and has increased the frequency of flight connections as well as improving connections to the Greek islands. In 2014, the total traffic of both companies reached 10.1 million passengers with 11.6m exptected by 2015.
In 2015 the flightplan comprised 134 destinations with 15.1m available seats. For 2016 the company plans to operate to 149 destinations in 45 countries. The airline's fleet is amongst the youngest in Europe and consists of 58 aircraft, including the company's recently purchased Airbus A320ceos.
AEGEAN was awarded the Skytrax World Airline as best European regional airline in 2015, this being the 6th time it received the award (previous awards in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).
