Best time to travel to Bali
Choosing a good time to travel to Bali will depend on weather conditions and the high/low seasons. This affects overall accommodation prices. Bali experiences high seasons on during Nyepi in March, July, August, Easter Holidays, Christmas and New Year. The period between April, May and June is a low season. During these months, the humidity is slightly lower and the place experiences a dry season. Accommodation is cheaper uring this time compared to the high season. Water sports such as surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling are at their prime during these months due to the clear waters. Family parks and attractions such as Bali Zoo, Monkey Forest, Bird Park, Marine Safari Park and Waterbom are less busy, making the experience more enjoyable.
Bali - important information before travelling
Necessary passport validity is usually 6 months for entry into Bali and British citizens who enter and leave the city from Ngurah Rai airport can travel for 30 days without a visa. There are also no compulsory vaccines, but Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Typhus and Diphtheria are recommended. Any person found possessing, selling or consuming drugs is sentenced to long imprisonment or even death.
Local information - arrival, accommodation and transport
The distance between the airport and Kuta is approximately 2 km. Some hotels arrange for guests and tourists to be picked up at the airport upon arrival. Taxis are available but can be a bit pricy. Hotels and guesthouses charge at least Rp 60,000 in a night. Public transport consists of buses and minibuses that both offer cheap services. The Kura-Kura bus services are the most common in Kura - these are readily available and very cheap. Fares for taxis are slightly higher than for the public transport but they are still much cheaper compared to UK.
