Stansted Airport Transfer, Accommodation and Transport
After arriving at Stansted airport, the fastest way to the city is to use the airport train service. The station is under the airport building terminal and trains run at a frequency of 15 minutes. The journey to Liverpool Street takes around 45 minutes and costs around £8 for a one-way ticket. Book online in advance for the best deals. There are also CrossCounty trains from Stansted which serve towns in the Midlands and Cambridgeshire. National Express buses operate services to many other destinations. Easybus operate a service from the airport to Baker Street or Old Street stations in the city. Stansted airport is also near the M11, meaning it has good road access to London and other cities in the area. A cheap hostel in London costs upwards of around £15 per night in shared rooms. Mid-priced hotels are more like £40 and above. On the public transport system, a single ticket costs around £6.50, and a day travelcard is between £12 and £15. Travellers can save money using an Oyster card. This requires a £5 deposit for the card itself, which is refundable.
