Useful information about the flight from Karachi to Kathmandu
Vibrant lively Kathmandu
Being both the largest city and the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu is vibrant, lively and offers great entertainment and sights for visitors.
Kathmandu throughout the year
The ideal time to visit Kathmandu is during the dry season from October till April. It is not recommended to travel during the time from June to the beginning of October, as this is monsoon season and with the heavy rains flooding, landslides and power cuts can be common.
Kathmandu hosts some lovely festivals that are great to experience. From March to April is Holi with colour and water fights, and Ghode Jatra festival with horse parades. In April it's also the Nepalese New Year. During August there is the festival of cows called Gai Jatra, and in September the 8-day festival of Indra Jatra that honours the goddess Indra which is accompanied by processions and dances. October has the Dashain Hindu Festival for two weeks and in November is the international Jazz festival called Jazzmandu.
Information about Kathmandu and Nepal

It is recommended to check with your GP at least 8 weeks before you plan to travel to the city about any recommended vaccines such as Hepatitis A, Diphtheria, Typhus and Tetanus. Kathmandu has lovely natural areas, but Nepal has strong laws against exporting any species from the country and it is not recommended to hike alone, so make sure you arrange a guided tour beforehand. Avoid drinking tap water too, so use boiled or bottled water for drinking and brushing your teeth.
Local Kathmandu travel
It is best to arrange transfer from the airport by your hotel. The local taxis on average cost from 200 NPR for 3 km + and then 60 NPR/km, with fixed or prepaid costs charged in advance.
