Completed and first used in1962 the airport is about 40 km or 3 miles from downtown Washington, D.C. Please take the Virginia State Route 267 to exit 9AB, or the State Route 28 and then the State Route 606.
The bus 5A operated by MARC provides a service between the airport and the L’enfant Plaza in downtown. This bus also stops at the Rosslyn Metrostation (Orange+Blue Line) and the Tysons-Westpark Transit Station in Tysons Corner.
Between the airport and the West Falls Church Metrostation (Orange Line) "Washington Flyer Coach Service" operates at 30 minute intervals.
Passengers travelling to and from the airport by train or bus (Amtrak+Greyhound), head for Union Station (Red Line) either towards L'Enfant Station (Bus route 5A) or the Red Line to Metro Center Station and then take the Orange Line. Take this westbound to West Falls Church Metrostation, from here the "Washington Flyer Coach Service" goes directly to the airport.
To travel between the two airports Dulles and Reagan, first head for Rosslyn Station (Orange+Blue Line) and then take the Blue or Yellow Metro line towards Franconia-Springfield / Huntington.
Transfer between Dulles and Baltimore airports is possible from Union Station with the Amtrak or "Penn Line" (MARC). Go to BWI Rail Station, from here there is a regular free shuttle service to the airport. Alternatively take the Green Line from L'Enfant Plaza Station downtown to Greenbelt Station and then the Metro Bus B30, this also goes directly to Baltimore airport.
