The airport was opened in 1946 and is located approximately 5 miles north east of the city centre. Use the A1/E44 motorway to exit 7 and 9 and then follow the airport signs.
Rail and bus passengers head for Luxembourg main rail or bus stations and then use a taxi or the public bus number 16 (Eurobus) to the airport. The bus operates on weekdays between 5.40 am and 9.40 pm at 10-15 minute intervals, and on Sundays and holidays from around 7 am to 10 pm every 30 minutes.
