It is Indonesia's most important airport as well as being one of the largest airports in Asia. Soekarno Hatta is the main hub for the airlines Batavia Air, Cardig Air, Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, Lion Air, Merpati Nusantara Airlines, Republic Express Airlines, Sriwijaya Air and Wings Abadi Air. It is also an important hub for Express Air, Citylink and Kal Star Aviation.The airport is located 20 km northwest of Jakarta near Cengkareng in the Tangerang Regency of Banten province.
The other airport in Jakarta is the former main airport Halim Perdanakusuma, which is now used for domestic routes.
