Birmingham International Airport is an important airport in the West Midlands. The airport is located about 11 miles east of the city centre near the town of Solihull. Birmingham airport is one of the 5 major British air traffic hubs according to traffic volume, attributable to the fact that Birmingham and its greater city area is the second largest city in the United Kingdom. Car: The airport is located on the M42 and the A42 towards Coventry. Motorists coming from the M42 towards Birmingham should leave at exit number 6 and then follow the signs to the airport.
