The Portuguese carrier TAP Portugal, orTransportes Aereos Portugueses (TAP) has its main hub in Lisbon (Aeroporto da Portela). The airline's first commercial flight was operated on 19.09.1946 between Lisbon and Madrid.

Since 14.03.2005, TAP Portugal has been a member of the Star Alliance. TAP Portugal is the biggest Portuguese airline and the European airline with the most routes to Brazil. TAP's hub in Lisbon is well situated for flights to Europe as well as other continents.
