Information on Bangkok Airways
Information about Bangkok Airways
The private airline Bangkok Airways was founded in 1968 by an American construction company and initially called Sahakol Air. First scheduled flights were operated in 1986 and changed its name to Bangkok Airways in 1989. Due to the fast increase in passenger numbers and constant demand, additional hubs in Koh Samui and Sokuthai were added in recent years and the subsidiary company Siam Reap Airways was also founded in Kambotscha. The airline currently focuses on serving Thai and nearby Asian airports such as Pattaya, Pakse, Yangon, Hong Kong, Singapore or Phnom Pen. There are however plans to include European airports by 2012.
