Airport Split SPU
Split-Kaštela Airport is one of the 8 most important airports in the south eastern European Republic of Croatia. Behind Zaghreb it is the second most important airport by traffic volume and is located near the seaport of the same name in Dalmatia. Split is also the provincial capital of Split-Dalmatia. The airport is a major hub for Croatia airlines which operate cheap flights from a number of European airports such as London and Frankfurt. Opened in 1966, the airport is about 18 miles west of Split, between the towns of Trogir and Kaštela. By car take the main road 8 between Trogir and Split and then follow the signs to the airport.
