It is very close to the city of the same name which is the capital of the Bejaia province on the Mediterranean sea about 230 km or 140 miles from the capital Algiers.

The airport is about 4 km or 1 mile south of the city centre and easy to reach from the centre of town on the N-9 towards Tichi.
