The best time to visit is from April to October. Spring and autumn are mild and the city has hot dry summers and wet winters. Friday is Tehran's day off and many shops are closed. Plan a trip at the beginning of February for the Islamic revolution anniversary or visit from 21st to 24th March for Newroz, which is the New Year/spring festival. Republic Day is celebrated around April 1st while early June, normally 3rd or 4th, marks the anniversary of the death of Imam Khomeini.
