Location
First in use in 1968, the airport is about 11 km or 8 miles east of the capital, on the Panamericana (Carretera Norte). A shuttle bus to the city is currently not available. There are plenty of taxis / rental cars at the airport. Inexpensive, negotiable taxi fares are only available outside the airport grounds on the main road (Panamericana).
