The airport is located about 6 miles north west of the city centre, in the town of Marjala. From Joensuu use the State Highway 17/23 toward Ylämylly and follow the airport signs a few miles past the village of Marjala.
Rail and bus passengers head for Joensuu main railway or bus station and then use either a taxi or shuttle bus operated by the company-Savo Oy Karlaja Linja.
