Canakkale Airport is an important nationally operating commercial and military airport in Turkey. It is situated on the eastern edge of Canakkale, which is also the capital of the province of the same name on the Sea of Marmara. The civilian and military airport is administered by the Turkish aviation authority and the Turkish navy. The port is particularly popular as a starting point for excursions to the archaeological site of Troy, which is only about 20 miles south of Canakkale.

Location
Opened in 1995, the airport is located about 1 mile southeast of the port. By car coming from Canakkale use the Troya Caddesi to sht. Gürol Caddesi and then follow the signs on this road to the airport.

Rail and bus passengers please head for Çanakkale central bus station and then take a minibus (dolmus) or a taxi to the airport.
